Daewoo DLT-37C3FT3 Dead set stuck in standby.
« on: July 10, 2011,17:10:40 »

Hi,
This set is stuck in standby.
Using the R/C to turn the set on only makes the LED flash green but no sound or picture.
The 5v is fine, but 12v & 24v missing.
Any help much appreciated.

Don't recognise the set off hand but if you can get a part number for the psu or upload a pic it'd help to give you  some pointers.
On a general note the majority of stuck in standby faults are caused by faulty secondary output capacitors, check them over for swelling or leaking anything that doesnt look perfectly flat on top change.
Hopefully you'll be lucky !

Hi,
I’ve checked the electrolytic caps (ESR) on the p/s pcb they all check out fine.
Has anyone got the p/s (FEL-3732UL) schematics?
Thanks
Pan

Hi,

My mistake the P/S is a FEL-3237UA.

Cheers.

There's a repair kit for this lists

The repair kit contains the following components:
• C30
• C31
• C34
• C35
• C36
• C37
These kits are usually not far off the money try changin the caps see how you go won't take long and might save you a few quid on a psu if thats where the fault is although i defer to chrissie at 130 yrs he's far more knowledgeable than I !

We repaired these for Daewoo when in warranty. There was a mod made to the PSU. When C30 was 220uF/10v it was to be changed to 1000uF/16v, you could try that first.
It was also common for the eeprom to fail and you could try a blank 24C64 in that position too. (U11?)
You can test this PSU by shorting out the relay contacts and checking that all PSU output voltages are corect. If they are ok then suspect the eeprom. It is also worth trying to "reset" the eeprom by temporarily shorting pins 5 and 6 (serial and data) for a few seconds at switch on.
Try switching on with the inverter disconnected too.

Hi ken,
Thanks for the reply, these eeproms have to be pre programmed, got set working using a dump from a vestel chassis  :08: still would be nice to have a copy of the correct one.
