Samsung LE46M86BDX...Intermitant Fault

Hi....again

I have this TV and it has an intermitant fault...When you sometimes turn the TV on the backlights illuminate and the TV shuts down again...it looks a little like an inverter transformer fault..the trouble is if you leave the tv for 5minutes and plug it in there is no problem and wont be another fault with it, could last for 1 day or 2 weeks before it does it again.

I have checked for dry joints everywhere and all seems to be ok...the only thing someone maybe able to advise me on is on the "Left" Inverter (SSB460WA22L-Rev 4) has a random transformer middle of the board....I cant get any readings out of the dam thing...apart from that I am screwed

As always any pointers much appreciated

hi theres a previous post I made a while ago that had a lift from the service manual detailing how to by pass the lamp out error circuit you could try giving that a go....

Cheers Jimca

Ive just been through all your posts and cant find anything regarding the bypass.

I will have a search on yahoogle for the bypass and if I get stuck will give you a shout

Thanks again

" You can drive the circuit by force when LCD panel lamps or invereter is faulty by connecting pin 2 of the connector going from the main board to the PSU (CN1101 ) to pin 4 of the same connector "

in other words short over pins 1 and 2 of the main board to power supply connector
