unexpected abscence
« on: January 11, 2012,21:17:38 »
hiya guys a wee quick sorry and explanation to anyone who asked for info or a part lately and didnt get a reply. I had a wee heart attack just before Christmas so havent been around . The good news is there doesnt seem to be any long term damage ( but at 70 what the hell do they think of as long term ?? ) Maybe time to stop lugging about CRT's ! :57:

OMG ...
Glad you came through it unscathed Jim ..
I suffer with a condition called Transverse Myelitis ...
Very much like MS ..and have suffered quite badly over Christmas ..
The worst thing being the fact that it robs me of dexterity ....and the extreme fatigue that goes with the territory ..
I was glad of the rest between Christmas and New Year ...but spent the majority of it in bed ..
cest la vie ..
Not fair the way these things mess up the lives of us old'uns..but we have to keep going ..
I do hope you suffer no long term effects from your setback Jim ..
best wishes
Evan

I hear what you're saying dave and eventually all old horses have to go out to pasture!
I've been doing TVs since there was only one or two in a street and white goods since the old hoover single tubs with the power ringers!
I think its hard when you're self employed when to decide to give up your income stream. I've decided I'm stoppin doing the white goods and I'm pretty sure I'm going to close the workshop and just continue doing TV's in a limited way from home, That way I can pick and choose what I do without feeling obliged to go do the heavy stuff I have to admit I'm no longer fit for.

All the best - Chris.

Hi Jim and Sparky,

Was only enthusing our 'Jimca' as a serious and sometime whimsical, north of the border 'Wee' Quuquer.

Dr. Cameron, likewise (as in Dr Findllays casebook, well, he was just such a guy) - Janet just cooked, but in a pithy manner.

You young folks weren't brought up with 60's soaps - I'm back to Dixon with his healthy Dock Greens - Chris

PS - Jimca - what's with this modern 'LOL'  crap  - you too probably had a proud post WW2 socialist education, but never too political myself, but.

PPS - Wish you well, Jimca - natch political ever, of course.

PPPS - Sparky - you need a translation - what into ?

I do remember the school tie being somewhat red !! And the grandweans text me so I've to try and work out what that particular version of english translates to hence the LOL !
I never even gave the esteemed Dr Cameron and the prim and proper Janet a thought ! I thought it was some obscure reference to our em great leader Mr David Cameron !

Hi Jimca, and well said.

To think our revered and modest 'Janet' could be seen as a reference to phart  'Cameron' with his private eddication and family millions escapes me.

Surely, as you now have a wild 'Salmon' now to enthuse - and he has never been known to say 'LOL' - in public, at least - he could be that guy - but doubt it - he still needs southern cash now the 'Scottish' North sea gas has all but run out -

Ever a sort'a greenish socialist, but never political - Chris
