this set came in dead.got power going to board but no standby light just dead ...not worked on thease sets before...help.

Hi depending on which psu it has ,
have you checked the output voltages and checked the psu for swollen caps ?

The LG psu use samxon caps which tend to fail secondary caps is where i would start .
