faulty tv

my set wont switch on, i havent checked the fuse, i dont know the make and it has got me beat, can anyone help, this is getting typical of the posts on here, we need work carried out so far and at least some of the diagnosis found, i think we know who we are, but thats me! start the week with a gripe

Just takes a few screws to identify things (that sounds bad!), there are part numers you can research on google, that would be a good starting point to newbies. :sign0144:

Reminds me of stories I was told by my father who was in the trade for decades. From women telling him "my husband says he's sure it's only a resistor thing that's broken, won't cost much" to lengthy tales of what they were watching at the time, what the characters were doing, what they were eating while watching the programme, and how "it was working perfectly before that, I just don't understand it!" :72:
Funny how things are often working before they fail... seems to surprise so many customers.
