Samsung LE40R87bdx cannot access service menu
« on: February 27, 2012,05:16:27 »
Hi folks,
I'm looking for some suggestions/help with this problem.

This set had the usual capacitor problem on the PSU board. I replaced all the caps and the eprom (ic803) but it still clicked away when connected to the mains then I found on the signal board that R1131 and R1132 (each 47R 1/4watt) were burnt out and C1102 was a short circuit. I replaced these components and the set burst into life..woohoo, I had it on the bench for a week checking it every day for an hour or so, all was well. My customer took it away and 2 days later told me the clicking was back :(. I have checked all the supplies coming from the power board and the sub supplies on the signal board all seem ok, I even replaced ic803 again, still will not stop clicking. The SW_POWER signal going to Q1102_LCD from IC1806 is toggling all the time so I suspect IC1806 is monitoring something I cannot get to as All that circuitry in inder the card slot :(  .
Am I missing something here? Is there anything else that could be causing this problem?

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

All the best,

Nightlight

Ok, I replaced the signal board, a BN94-01260C with a BN94-01260A (all I could get my hands on) this cured the relay clicking problem BUT I cannot access the service menu, when I try info, menu, mute, power the set comes out of standby with the sets red power led flashing for a few secs then the backlight comes on and the led goes off..thats it nothing else :(  any ideas???
thanks again
