Hi

I have now found where 7CG0 is but it is missing. Should it be missing tbh it does not look like it has been removed it looks like its never been there????

chappers:
It might be that your mainboard is a different revision to the one listed in the fault database I use, and 7CG0 has been omitted on your revised board.

Here's a link to the service manual: http://www.filedropper.com/philips32pfl9613d10sb-si1265605990

Have you traced back the missing 5V for the USB stick? Perhaps this is the problem with the TV.

This set does flash error codes. Although it appears to be flashing differently each time, perhaps it's showing more than one fault. Can you count the number of flashes in each sequence and I'll check the error codes to see what it's reporting. Even the speakers being o/c will stop this model starting!

I asked about audio as the faults I listed originally state that audio was normal. I can't find a fault listed for backlight on and no audio, except for one that states a white LED flashes around 13 times, and the cause was shorted transformer turns on one of the inverter transformers that are only visible once ttransformer is removed.

There is a fault listed for no picture and no audio, but it doesn't remark on whether backlight is on or off. Says to check transistor T409 in the PSU for short-circuit, and that it's a TSC432I but can be replaced with a BC546B.

Personally I'd find out why the 5V to USB port is missing...

Hi

Thanks for your help.

I have had a look at the 5v and it was me being dumb. My usb has a led on so I assummed that as it was not lit no 5v but there is 5v at port.

This what happens when I power set.

Plug set in
13/14 flashes of led. first flash is dimmer than rest dont know to count it or not.
Backlight comes on after anything between 8 and 10 flashes of led.
led stops flashing and starts a different rate
on for 13 sec then off for 5 sec it keeps this up.
Press standby button on remote
red standby light on
10 sec later set turn on again led flashes 7 times then starts its 13secs on and 5 off flash.

I will have a good read of the service manual later.

You mentioned a fault database is this a database that your purchased? I am at the moment working my notice to go self employed in electronic repair and sub contracting at my current employer so any help (databases, pointing in the right direction would be a real great help)

Thanks

Carl

PS As for audio does the set chime or anything on power up like samsungs

chappers:
Hi, no problem, glad to help.

By audio, I mean plugging in a signal perhaps via SCART, using the remote to get on to AV even if you can't see anything on the screen, and seeing if audio comes through (i.e. set is working normally and responding to commands, etc., but just isn't displaying a picture).

If your USB stick has an LED then shouldn't it light up when plugged into a USB port supplying 5V to it?

I'm not familiar with this set at all. The only fault that mentions LED flashing around 13 times actually states that a white LED flashes about 13 times, and that the set can be switched into standby via the remote control which then turns the LED red. Is this anything like you're experiencing?

If you leave the set on, does the backlight stay on the whole time and seem to be lighting the entire screen?

There is a very similar fault listed to the description you've given, wherein it's described as a repeating cycle of LED on for 10-15 seconds, then off for 5 seconds, but the difference is this listing describes the OSD briefly appearing about 5 seconds after the power LED comes on. The remedy is given as update firmware. I think I'd check to see if your USB stick's LED should be coming on.

Did you check that transistor in the PSU? CHecked PSU voltages against service manual?

carlday:
Hi,

I thought I would update as to where I am with the tv.

I checked PSU and everthing is ok. I purchased a usb to uart and connected it to the tv service port. I looked at logs in hyperterminal and found the display code was wrong so I changed that and I updated the firmware using manual mode and hyperterminal telling what buttons to press.

I can now get a picture on the tv in manual update mode and I can see to update firmware.

The tv still does not boot properly and I have no idea where to go from here. I think that I might have to quit. The mainboard in this set is differnet to the service manual, i have done some digging and found that the board in the set was used on 37inch plus philips tv (Q529-le-lb) not (Q529le-la). The tv case has Q529-le-la stamped on label so I am thinking that this set has been off for repair before and that would explain the wrong display code.

The owner brought the set second hand so they dont know if it have ever been off for repair before and they are not letting on if it has ever worked.

If anyone knows if the mainboard fitted in set will work please let me know or if anyone understands the philips log from hyperterminal that would be great.]

This is the last bit of the log.
