Hi one and all, any body know why this set should work for 2 hours OK and then when pressing the on/off button the set shuts down OK but when trying to restart the Blue LED comes up half brightness and will not start till cold again ,I have fitted a power supply  kit to up date the unit but fault still there?

I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM TOO REPAIRED POWER SUPPLY IF YOU 17PW20 BOARD HAD MULTI CAP BLOW OUTS HAS CORRUPTED THE EPROM EVEN IF YOU HAVE REPLACE THE POWER SUPPLYNORMALY PLUGGING IN A REPLCEMENT 24C64 AND RESTARTING THE TV REPROGAMS THE NEW IC HOVERE IF THE POWER BOARD BLEW OUT THIS SOMETIMES DID NOT WORK SO YOU WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW PREPROGRAMED OR PROGRAM A BLANK 24C64 WITH A PIC PROGRAMER , I USE WINPICK 800 SOFTWAREA DN SOME OF THE BIN OR HEX FILES ARE AVAILABLE BUT YOU HAVE GOT TO GET THE RIGHT ONE THESE VESTEL SETS USE DIFFERENT LCD SCREENS AND THE EPROM WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY OR DAMAGE YOUR SCREEN YOU MAY FIND A LOGIK TV & A SANY TV WITH THE SAME AV BOARD 17MB12-2 AND SAME LCD SCREEN AND IT WILL PROBABLY BE THE SAME BIN FILE IN THE EPROM. JUST BROUGHT TWO LOGIK 32" BACH TO LIVE WITH THIS METHOD.....BUGGSY

Surely a duff EPROM would be duff all the time, not just after two hours - could be wrong - Chris.

simply refitting a new eprom may cure the problem if eprom was corrupted may keep causing the error time and time again a cheaper option to replace a eprom than £25+ for a new board.
if it does not work then buy a new board....done two with same symtoms cured with 2 new programed eproms........
