philips 32pf9967 LCD half solid black screen

When i turn the tv on  the screen illuminates ok on the left side up to middle, but the right side is completely black(as though that half of tv is not turned on), there is sometimes vertical coloured pixel lines but only 1 or 2 . the backlight is fine. could it be the tcon board or is it more likely to be the screen. any help appreciated

between t-con board and screen,try reseating the ribbon on the side its blank.
