Sharp Aquos (LC-37AD5E-BK)
« on: January 24, 2013,18:05:58 »
Hi guys.. Could I pick your brains about the above tv? It seems to automatically cycle through the different inputs, no matter what the input device is. It happens all the time, about every 30 seconds or so.. Pretty annoying! Any ideas?

it will be in demo mode
try
AV function changes
go into service menu and turn it of
if it is greyed out
performed a Factory Init.
Back came the menu so was able to turn off the demo mode
now on test for a while to make sure it doesn't happen again

service mode
Method  LCD Sets
1. While the LCD is on, unplug the power
cable.
2. Then while pressing the {INPUT} &
{VOL -} buttons on the remote, plug
the power cable back into the outlet.
3. When it powers up you will see a little
"k" appear in brackets.
4. Then on the TV, press and hold {VOL -}
& {CH -} down and release.
5. The Service Menu will be displayed. Use {CH+} {CH -} buttons to navigate,
Use {VOL+} {VOL -} buttons to adjust the value.
To exit, turn the power off.

I agree with t1412, this set was terrible for the side buttons sticking....Straight from Sharp customer support and I quote "Get your hoover pipe and clean around the buttons", it is a known sharp issue, failing that remove the back and just disconnect the buttons from the board and see if it still faults.

Good stuff fellas.. I'll give this a blast when I get home! The tv reaks of smoke, so buttons are probably caked with tar and dust.. Could possibly be the cause, though they dont seem to be sticking.. Still get an audible click when pressing them.. I'll try each of the solutions anyway and let you know.. Cheers, Sean...
