Sony KVL32v2000, Could this be possible

(1/1)

chrisantony:
Hi

I have a Sony and it has a very intermittent fault, when I say intermittent I mean intermittent, it may not fault for weeks if not mths and when it does fault it gives 9 blinks (DTT Fault).

I cant get it to fault after testing testing testing, now this is what I want to know, if it is at all humanly possible, the tv came from an area where signal isnt as strong as it is where I am, and I am thinking that in bad weather the digital signal went so low it caused the sony to do its max headroom/sky when it rains routine and shut down thinking it was a fault within the tuner...could this happen??

Also thinking about the owners aerial and if it was good enough to handle the digital switch

Any help appreciated

Not sure about your theories, lol, what about AGC?
For code 9, the EURAS database states "Replace DVB panel/Card reader assembly".

Hi,

Very common fault, the DVB board can cause intermittent start up, cutting out or not powering up at all.

Thanks Keith, the tv finally gave up the ghost and after buying and replacing two digital boards (dodgey ebay seller sold me a faulty one) it is all up and running again, I did find if anyone else is struggling that the part in question is not just for the 32, (Part Number:-Digital board 1-869-656-21) I got this one out of a 40inch sony and its working fine...yipeee
