HI ALL!    my sony tv has this problem.
black screen with one white line at the top of screen, sound is ok, tunner is ok,and when i go to menu i see the menu ok, but overlay on black screen with the white line at the top of screen. (horizontal and vertical is ok. I have replase the STV 9379, but nothink.)
please help.

Hi can only suggest try heating any capacitors near frame ic and change them

BUT WHERE IS THE FRAME IC, AND REMEMBER THAT THE MENU LOOKS OK BUT NO PICTURE BEHIND THE MENU. ONLY ONE WHITE LINE AT THE TOP OF BLACK SCREEN.

the stv 9379 is the frame ic check for any loose joints also is your st/by light flashing any set amount of times when on

Check components at pin 6 of connector CN702 of crt pcb. It is connected to pin 30 of jungle IC 301. A term called black current is sensed through this pin. If voltage at this pin goes beyond threshold screen goes blank! Also check flyback pulse at pin 58. Low amplitude of this pulse causes screen to go blank!!
