CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE

 ??? The TV turned itself onto standby, when I use the remote to turn it on the standby light fades but is still there. I cannot get a picture on the screen or any sound. Can anyone help???

It's a 37 inch LCD HD TV Acoustic Solutions. The TV was on yesterday and turned itself onto standby and now when I switched it off and on again, I used the remote to turn it on from standby and the light just fades a little but remains on. There is no picture or sound.
