acoustic solutions 37in need help please?

my tv turned itself onto standby when using the remote to take it out of standby the light went dull instead of off with no picture or sound just completely dead can this problem be fixed ???

 I think you may have a problem in the standby power supply,check capacitors in that area.The chassis used in these tvs are very much like if not the same as some Bush LCD,s which i have repaird for this fault. Hope this helps!    8)

Is it expensive to fix? Do I need to buy a new power supply? I have never repaired a tv before so I really don't know where to start. Thanks for the reply.
