Has Faulty Power Supply Blown The lot?
(1/1)
polter:
hi - i have a sandstrom s24led11- when i switched on only the red standby/power light was working - everything else is completely dead.
the power supply has a single 12v output - when i meter tested on dc i got 12v ok but on the ac meter range i got 26v. - all the caps look ok.
i bench powered directly but still no luck - can anyone please enlighten me as i'm obviously not a tv tech.
Keith:
Hi
A steady LED would normally indicate that the standby voltage is working, if nothing happens when you press the on button, the SSB circuit will probably have a fault, either eeprom or flash data corruption, microprocessor fault, or possibly LV regulators. The PSU is probably OK, but needs to be tested by forcing on.
Your best and safest option would be to take it to a repair shop!

If the set has any push buttons check the tac switches. They can become leaky preventing 'boot up'.
Had this on a couple of other brands, the standby led wouldn't even come on on one of them, all I did was disconnect the button assembly rebooted and used the remote. This is fine if the remote sensors isn't on the same panel and share the same connectors.
Sometimes a reset works wonders too in these situations.

Hi,
Agree with Keith.
In most every case problem is due to Eeprom corruption. Maybe a replacement main board from Fleabay -
But check screen size, also screen maker - Different panels for all - nothing easy - Chris
