RenegadeUK:
Hi i was hoping someone might be able to help.

I have a Philips LCD TV  (model no 37PFL5522D/05) and it recently started switching on and off even though the BLUE POWER light stays on (so it is not switching off to StandBy mode, which would show a RED light).
It generally works ok after 10-15 minutes, although it now seems to takes longer and longer to warm up/stay on.

I've inspected all the capacitors on the Power Board (PLCD300P3 24572) and they seem fine, although the main power Capacitors are under a black protective cover and some are also under a large heatsink. (see attached picture).

Could these be the cause of the problem, and how could i inspect these?
The large covered heatsink has 4 diodes stuck to it (connected with thermal paste) which would make it difficult to remove.  I can just about see the capacitors under the covers and they don't seem to have bulged or popped.

I would be grateful of any help, as i'd much rather replace any faulty components than order a new power board etc..

Can anyone recommend a possible fix. Thanks in advance for any information.

40BV700B flashing light, (VESTEL 17MB35-4)
PSU has been tested on another set & is ok, so my guess is it's corrupted firmware.
Trouble is I can't find the firmware for this set anywhere.
Does anyone out there have a copy?
Many thanks.
