Whimsical, you say, Chris. Guess with the declining volume of work and the declining bank balance, one does tend to get whimsical. Fortunately, I'm at that age where the government gives one a pension to be a slacker, so any dosh I do make is pocket money.....after the landlord rips me off for his share and the government recovers the pension in taxes. Good to be philosophical about it.

PS - Suspect reply could be suspected sexist, but I was just an innocent young punter at the time, with my pole stuck, and a Jesus freak near freaking.

Didn't mention that my next tandem was fashioned esp for my daughter with foot rests should she get puffed on our trips - She was ten at the time, and thought fathers a bit daft.

Especially hers. She's now gone on to cycle most everywhere, and does half marathons for some reason.

Future partners didn't go for the pain of cyclo/camping, and needed a guaranteed dry bed, with no chance of catching something horrible foot-wise in the communal showers.

Haven't camped for a while as current partner is essentially sensible, though female - Chris
