Sony KF-42SX300U Rear Projection TV - flashing standby LED

Hi,

My Dad has a Sony Rear Projection TV that has a flashing standby LED status. Screen doesn't come on. Lamp LED is not lit. Anyone have any ideas? Or knowledge of self-diagnostics for this model? Service manual available somewhere.
He's a pensioner and can't afford the Sony Service Centre call out fees, so I want to help him out if possible.

most of the ones i had was the lamp 95% 5% bl pcb and lamp
you could obtain the lamp with out cradle from  wiltgrove ltd www.wiltsgrove.co.uk 0121 772 2733
