samsung le 40a616a strange pic

call me al:
Hi All Have this samsung le40a616a3f  picture is bright on left of screen and dark on right changed tcon but fault is still same. any help appreciated

 try linking faulty tv to another thro scart and see if pic ok on other tv
if so sounds like screen faulty

Hi Sparky & Al,

As far as I know Samsungs do not have AV OUT, certainly not in Oz. May be different there.

These have Test Patterns, though. Al will have to access the service menu and look through the options for the pattern generator. If the patterns show same result, I'd have to concur with Sparky that the panel is cactus.               Bruce

This sounds like a problem with the screen itself
this is a common fault with Samsung screens,
The tabs on the top of the screen give a lot of trouble

I seem recall reading somewhere that the tabs, the interconnections to the actual LCD screen could create strange faults like this and in some cases easily cured by compressing them using sticky backed foam, never had this problem myself yet.

Obviously if this is the case then it's either this or a new screen..... these day's ya' just gotta go of the model of the screen..... usually under all the 'ally'. Go off the model of the telly and sure can bet you are fitting the wrong screen.

Edit:
You can check this by watching the effects by applying pressure to them.
