Panasonic NN-CT890S Microwave error codes

(1/2) > >>

Turnip:
Hi Folks,

Mention as good Quuq advice doesn't include this model.

Lots of good advice, but nothing listed works on this one.

Suspect a microwave with a trannie still the biz - Cheap too, and without error codes, as don't need 'em,

Just change the duff bits - they're obvious - done it for years - no probs.

Suspect should get up to date - would do if Panasonic gave any info - Natch, they don't, poss for heath and safety considerations - Bit Sad as have a pound or two currently invested in the outcome, as one does  - Chris.

Hi Chris,

I have service manuals for about 40 Pana microwave models, but natch not yours. I looked through those with the dreaded inverter and wouldn't you know it, no error codes mentioned or even alluded to. There goes your investment, unless some other Quuq guru knows the answer.......Bruce

Turnip:
Hi Bruce, and thanks for your thoughts,

Guess another 'inverter' machine will turn up at some time unless someone invents a transformer to do the job more reliably.

Used to use the local Council tip for spares (till it closed) and never had to buy anything apart from the odd lamp.

Profitable until basic microwaves appeared in supermarkets at £25 (with a transformer)

Have some stuff from Panasonic (attached) showing how inverters score over trannie jobs - 'till they go phut.

Again thanks - Chris.

Hi Folks,

Thought another entry as now sorted (hopefully)

Following the flow chart, checked magnetron for intact heater and no shorts, as heater in known to droop to casing and short the -ve input to deck.

After checking most everything - all those door switches and such, thought to drag out the magnetron for a look and noticed the business end burned off.

Found a tidy Panasonic one from the heap and all OK.

Must admit, and at nearly ten amps, it cooks water pretty quick, and no fault issues.

Thanks folks for help, else-wise would have given up a while ago, and lost some 35 Squids 'till the next one came by - Chris.

Ah, the intrepid Turnip does it again! Note that unless you're an authorised service agent, manufacturers give you short shrift. They look after their own but anyone else is on their Pat Malone. Top marks for perservering. A good incentive is 35 quid.     Bruce.
