Hi All have this head wrecker of a set Sharp ic32d44e wont turn on .Have worked on this model before so fitted short and kept source and vol down pressed as described in the sharp service manual and applied power However it still wont come on green light comes on for a few secs and then goes red .any ideas  how to fix this much appreciated

i know you have to short c7588 out, then service mode

Hi Al,
You may have to try a few times before it goes to service mode. Do you get a brief flash of backlights when it attempts to start? This model was notorious for CCFL failure. Entering the service mode automatically disables the backlight protection. Shouldn't need C7588 shorted out. If you do get in, reset the lamp error count to zero, because this set will lock up after 5 CCFL errors.         Bruce
