When I have a tv in for repair and I suspect a software problem, the first thing I try to do,
 is a reset (if possible).
To do a reset on a Vestel chassis,
when the tv is on, press "menu 4725 " on the remote control
the reset is normally in the options on the service menu
This will restore it to its original condition
