LG 42LD490 stuck in standby
« on: November 29, 2014,06:06:54 »
Have any of you guys come across this one before? Its a 42LD490 on switch on it sounds like its about to spring into life, but fails and the only results are a slow flashing red standby led. The power supply has had new caps in the secondary, and all voltages are ok. Results are the same with the tcon board disconnected. Im beginning to fear a motherboard issue. Any ideas chaps? Or anyone got a spare board from a scrapper?
Bill

Quite a recent set. The mainboard is EBU 61081925WR the other details on it are 42LD49AUO. Thanks for the response.

Don't you think it has something to do with your EEPROM been spoiled??
Anyway i have the same issue(stanby light no starting) on LG 32LD850 china. i am now searching for the eeprom dump to test and confirm, before then if you have any solution you let me know to fix mine.

Stuck in standby with these is normally the electrolytic caps in the secondary of the psu. These have been changed on this set with no results.
Owner stated the set just went off, and wouldn't come back on. PSU seems fine, but I've just got a slow pulsing red standby light. Could be the eeprom, but I'm hoping I can find a replacement main board, but they seem a bit thin on the ground.
