TOSHIBA 40L1333B NO PICTURE BUT GOT SOUND
EARLYBIRD:
It fairly easy to get into the screen .Lay the tv down with the screen facing towards you.Remove the casing from around the screen taking note in which order it came apart. Add wire links across the the faulty connectors then reasemble. But take extra care when fitting the screen back in making sure it is laying flat in the black plastic casing, if its not dead centre you will crack it when you tighten the cover that holds it in place. This job should only take you aout 1 hour in total. Hope this helps Earlyird.

Hi Earlybird ,Gave set back to customer usual story taking so long to fix but is there an LED driver board behind the screen or does the cable from the power supply that goes to a plug on the outside of the screen go directly to the screen. Just in passing I used to work for a TV company in South Africa called Earlybird

Hi guys ,have got another one of these Toshibas with no picture . Got given the other on to keep . Have swopped the 2 power supplies boards over and still have no picture but sound on both so dont know if both boards are faulty or if there is another fault common to both. Think this is going to be a common fault soon so would be of help if we could all get to the bottom of it . Earlybird says to strip the screen apart but dont know if the LED driver board is inside the back of the screen? Any way of checking the power supply board its a 17PW07-2

I have had one of these given to me with the same problem. Screen face down, remove back and screws that need to be removed to allow access to the outer clips that hold the tin shroud to the facia that houses the screen. Isolate the boards so that they can be taken off as a unit still fixed to the "shroud" when the clips are freed. There is a panel at the bottom of the screen that you must also carefully release, I think three ribbon cables. When everything is clear, carefully undo the clips to release the shroud together with the couple of panels that are fixed to it. Now turn over and reveal the LED set up. By looking carefully you may find one or more with black burn marks, if not you can isolate each row of LED's and supply 20v to 30v to each. On mine, three of the strips lit up and brightened with increased voltage. The other two strips never budged. This all went on a few weeks back so make sure you go about it, giving the screen due care. I haven't got round to replacement yet. Good luck, Henry.

Hi grandad ,have stripped the screen out and got down to the backlight section . There are 5 strips and the LED driver board is inside the screen thats why you cant see it when you take the back off. Have taken the driver board out . There is a fuse but its OK and its getting the 24 volts from the power supply . Have got 2 sets the same .Have swopped boards over and it makes no diff ,so have either got identical board faults or screens are faulty
