L.C.D. Tv is killing my business

Since lcd has took off my business has gone downhill, ok lcd may
be better but when it comes to repairing them FORGET IT.
Parts not available or obsolete by now, already!.
I'ts not possible to repair them at component level it means
swapping panels if you can get them at STUPID prices.
There is going to be a lot of disappointed people when after there
guarantee runs out they find it's not possible to repair.
Unless you are a big company with the manufacturers backup
businesses like mine will be a thing of the past.
I have been self-employed allmost 20 years with my own little shop
and i love repairing electronic equipment, but i don't know how
much longer!.

Update.
I also mean plasma tv, dvd's, consumer electronics in general.
All these cheap electronic goods may be fine for the consumer
but not for us that repair them.
It's about time the eastern countries woke up, stopped working
for peanuts or a bowl of rice then prices would go up then we may
get repairs back to do!.
Example: Dvd player £15 with a 12 month guarantee who is going
to have that repaired when it goes faulty, nobody throw it away and
buy another!.

hi sorry to here about your business.I was in the same position but i only had one way to go as far as i was concerned DIVERSIFY.
i sat cores in computer repairs,i turned the business to sales and repairs,i got contracts from phone company's to sell contract phones (mobile).i'm learning to teach IT now as a backup in case it all goes tits up.it is not hard to do it,it just feels hard but once you have set the ball rolling  there is no stopping it.i hope this will help. us old tecs dont die we DIVERSIFY.good luck my friend :)
