Sharp LC-32GD8E LCD TV

I have a Sharp LC-32GD8E which will not allow me to retune the channels because it has a child lock code number.
The manual says to enter 3001 and revert it to factory setting which is 1234.
I have tried but it will not accept it.
Any idears.

Hi Ian,

Did you go to user menu, then SET-UP, then CHIL LOCK and press ENTER'  to start with.

As far as I know, 3001 is the correct code.

Failing all else, go into the service mode and execute an Industry Initialisation.

This will reset the password to 3001.

I went into DTV menu, then set up, then child lock, pretty sure I went into enter and then 3001.
I will check again tomorrow.
How do you get into service menu ?

Best to open the service manual and look on page 15.
