Kenny,  I cannot get these strips any where, nobody cares.  I have done a "bodge" job on another TV and
cut 2 LEDs off a spare strip I had and changed them with the faulty ones on the other TV.  That TV is now working fine but I can't leave it like that.  But it has proved the point for me.  Will post if I ever find any.

Grandad it seems the way things are going . If its not the power supply or bulging caps it is a new TV for people . These Toshibas were both less than 2 years old . Remember did my apprenticeship at Radio Rentals and they had an old guy who was a Radio Engineer and thought they would be obsolete soon . Now the wheel has come full circle and we are going to be obsolete

I have had two of these in recently with intermittent or no backlight and in both cases it was one of the centre connectors that connect the led strips,if you take care when dismantling and look closely at print you can see it is burnt ,I just handwired two small links to cure the problem.

2 hrs of my life I wont get back. About half the strips werent lighting when I stripped it down and then I managed to break 1 trying to remove it. Whats the point of screwing the strips in then glueing/taping them as well. Lucky the customer had scrapped it but told me to experiment on it. I wont try another one :96: :33:

OK wee update on this saga. As it was stripped down anyway prised off the rest of the strips and applied voltage to them. Seems to me all the doubled ended strips are faulty and there are 4 different types, A B C & D so before removing them, check what plugs where. Makes replacing the faulty ones more difficult if youre cannibalising. Ive got another one to do so I'll be able to see if its the same strips that go faulty. I also had a faulty link..mebbe thats what kills the strips in the first place.
