Sony kdl 37s5500 some help needed

I have one of these
its taking 15 secs to turn on and show a picture.

Press power light goes green
then it takes 15 secs to show something on screen
other than that it works fine ,,

leaky cap ?

Perhaps it's becoming geriatric !  Maybe you need a snake-oil cure from one of these spammers that are desecrating the forum.

I don't think a 15 second delay is unreasonable. Perhaps a bit of ageing in the backlights....try fiddling the "backlight" setting in the picture menu. Why fix it if it aint broke. One day I'll develop a rejuvenator for LCDs akin to the old CRT rejuvenators.

Thanks just needed confirmation that it was ok to be honest.
I had got it as a dead set but when i came to test it
its working fine.
