Toshiba 50L4353D 50 inch LED... panel or t-con fault?

(1/2) > >>

SlyAKs:
As above, please follow link showing video of fault.. Any ideas if it's panel or t-con?  Please note the TV is sitting upside-down while recording.. The fault is horizontal lines and a fuzzy image alternating to near perfect picture..

Turnip:
Hi Sly,

Assuming the set is the right way up, surely not the screen, if it's the original - Note some screens feed from the bottom so guess Main board / T-con sorts it.

Recall another chap on Quuq had exactly the same problem, can't recall Make, Model or if he found a solution - Best of luck - Chris.

SlyAKs:
Sorry Chris, should have explained, the set was sitting upside-down when I recorded.. Lol fault is the screen alternating between horizontal lines and fuzzy image to perfect again.. Sometimes worse than others

Still think t-con or main?

downunder:

That's reminiscent of the early Sony LCDs that had problems with the bonding of the flexy cables to the top of the panel, but I may be wrong.

Bruce

SlyAKs:
I was thinking it could be the flexi's Bruce, so I removed the frame covering them and inspected them. I also added pressure to each one when the TV was on and it made no difference to the picture at all.. What I did notice though was each flexi got really hot, like it would burn your finger hot, is this normal?
