Title: Digital Microscope - Need driver disc.
Post by: Turnip on January 24, 2015,09:36:20
Hi folks,

Got a popular no-name cheapy from the Flea, where the driver disc arrived cracked from China and wouldn't load or copy as there were too many errors.

Wonder if anyone has one and can do me a disc, as sending it back is a bit of a pain, and would take a month at the least, and have SM stuff to try sort.

Attach piccy of disc - Thanks - Chris.

Later, after words with China, they gave a full refund without wanting the microscope back, as they couldn't understand my request for a replacement driver CD - So it goes.

Guess buy another one in hopes of a good disc, next time.

Got another, so have spare microscope and driver disc if anyone needs one.

What is the scope like? How well does it work?

Hi Keith,

Attach a couple of pics. Only downside is that's a bit of a faff getting it to focus then hold it there. It has a button on the side to do a screen shot but when pressed, the microscope moves and you get now't useful.

Needs a good heavy stand with maybe a wheel to raise and lower a micron at a time. Incidentally the shot was taken on lowest magnification of X50, and it goes up to X500 - if you can hold it steady - Chris.

How much do you want for it?

Is it the same as this

Hi Keith,

The very one, although some suppliers sell it Max X200 or Max X500 - Got both for much the same price. As they're so cheap, wouldn't think of selling one, but if yours comes with a cracked mini-cd, will happily post you one, as both use much the same disc.

Out to the workshop now to try create a decent stand with my WW2 'Atlas' lathe - Fine machine - Chris.

Hi Chris

Think I might get one of these, looks good for the money. Useful for SMD work.

You can download the drivers from a link on this listing

Pleasure - Keith,
Have a feeling that best mount would be scissor type with heavy base and a simple screw to give height adjustment - Working on it - Chris.
