Title: Philips wont turn on, LED blink 2 times every 3 sec. (before vertical lines)

How it happened:

We sat at the office and looking through the door of the living room where the tv is. We immediately noticed huge grey lines going through the picture. They were vertical.
When I noticed I rushed to the tv set and turned it off. After that I would not turn on again.  :41:

It has been without power for more than 24h several times. Same result.  :03:

I have a white LED blinking twice every 3 sec.

A quick google on some error codes got me to this:
Error code 2, Error description: Horizontal protection / Vertical protection
Defective item: 7460, 7461, 7462, 7463, 7467, 7861, vlot aux +13V

Please note that this is uncertain if I interpreted the error code correct or it may not apply for my tv.

BUT the error code however does mention “vertical protection” which does relate to the grey big lines vertical on the tv before it went off last time. But keep in mind it might be a coincidence.

Here are some data on the TV set:
Philips 60”:   60PFL8708S/12
Power supply:   FSP226-4FS1
Logic board:    Unable to determine. Picture attached can be provided.

Please help! What can it be? What should I troubleshoot and or investigate to fix it? Should I unhook wires and plugs? Can I measure anything with a multimeter? (I have one) There was some dirt and small mosquitoes in the tv I will clean to begin with.

I can provide more pictures if needed.

Hi Lasse,
Your source of information refers to CRT TVs which are a different kettle of fish to LED Smart TVs. These don't require hor or vert protection. The same error codes will not apply. The service manual for your model doesn't appear to list error codes, but I'll upload it to the download section of this forum if you wish to peruse it.          Bruce.

 haha ok no I know that CRT cant be compared with LCD haha.. welll some coincidence huh?

and thanks about the manuel im gonna take a look now, but pretty lame no codes in my book? Im gonna try to call Philips now. I dont see any capacitors or any component failure, at least visible to eye.

I really hoped to get some direction og troubleshooting..  I mean my first thought was buying a used powersupply boards but what if it is not that? also they are hard to locate.... few in circulation.

SO, I managed to find a manual with some error codes. However I cannot read it properly dont know how to "read it".

Anyone?

I have a LED blink twice every 3 sec. I dont see where that i mentioned in the manuel?

According to the error code table in your link all the code 2 errors are linked to the SSB (small signals board) - main board in everyone else's language' These are generally non-repairable.                                 Bruce
