If you have a Sky+ box..the early one with 40g hard drive and no 'anytime'..and you have a blue Sky card, try them together and you can record freeview progs. You wont get Ch5 or Five*. Blue cards dont work with later boxes but I tried a Thomson HD and it worked in that one although not in Samsung or Amstrad.

thats good info mate,,,

ah but how do you get freeview on a sky box, ive tried and it wont pick anything up, ive tried rotating my 18 element all ways, but nothing, back to the stella and jd i think,

Tony, I think you are getting confused! I think sinclairtv means Freesat not Freeview.
Channel five should be added in 'Other Channels' or Add other channels or something like that, can't remember exactly, don't have much to do with Sky now.
Never tried Stella and JD, I do like a drop of Stella, especially if I am cooking on the BBQ. And I prefer my JD with coke. But will try a Stella and JD soon!

 I assumed you'd know what I meant but I should have said free to view progs. Havent tried to manually tune CH5 but the blue card wont decode it nowadays. I'm just happy to record the poker so I can watch it in the workshop..and I mean cards not the thing that stokes the fire.

Hi
If you go to add channels you should find the unencrypted Freesat Ch 5. you can then view it in 'Other channels'

Blue cards font job with afterward boxes but I proven a Thomson HD and it worked in that one although not in Sam sung or Amsterdam.

40g of calculative intend is unbelievable, but I guess it would be OK in Amsterdam!
