Title: Sony KDL-40V3000 - T-Con ?
Post by: Turnip on July 19, 2017,13:14:51
Hi folks,

Had set in where the AS15 had actually popped burning tracks. Thought a replacement T/con the biz so got one from Ebay.

Initially got a picture where the LH side was reversed but the RH side was OK. Tried it again after an hour and the picture was perfect - Thought out of the woods.

Tried again - White vertical bars either side plus reversed LHS -

Again - No bars but picture as attached. Looking at the T/con - seems the AS15 had been replaced as soldering looked recent.

Any thoughts ? - Thanks - Chris.

Just a thought,  if the chip has been swapped would they bother to 'pull' it and put the old one back if the fault wasn't cleared... pointing towards a faulty T con, you could try waggling the cable just in case, also try a 'perm' with a hair dryer in case it's temperature related.

The fault you described sounds does sound curious.

Hi Chris,

Doubt that it's related to the AS15. It's for gamma correction and would effect the whole screen. Bizarre fault, though. T-Con definitely out of a 40 " TV? Sony's are

outrageously particular about their T-Cons. If you remove the T-Con -panel ribbon for the good right half, is it still reversed in the left half?          Bruce
