Title: samsung smart tv's not turning on,cycling.
Post by: bonesy on April 13, 2016,06:25:30
Hi guy's,no specific model numbers I'm afraid, but inundated with Samsung smart TV's not coming on.They reckon that the Samsung logo comes up for a few seconds, then set goes off &starts same thing again.Thing is I've had around ten people so far same problem today, not normal.Only thing I'm seeing on line is that Samsung smart Hub is down world wide, would this stop sets from operating?or has there been a software upgrade that's gone wrong? One caller tried Samsung customer support to be told
90 min wait!Anyone else getting calls?

Given Samsung's track record on LED display panels, wouldn't be surprised if they're all headed your way. On many Samsungs , if you disconnect the Main board from the PSU, the backlights will come on and stay on. This means the Main board is faulty. On others, you need to force PS-ON and INV-ON while the main is disconnected from the PSU to achieve the same result.

Not superstitious' so I doubt if there's any Samsung black magic voodoo going on. Chances are main board faulty, or dicky LEDs in the backlighting.         Bruce

Turns out that Samsung world wide Hub suffered a failure, second or third time in a month. So when you switch on your TV, the set links to Samsung Hub,if no reply set will cycle on & off! What you can do is temp disconnect your router, then in TV menu disconnect either wireless or cabled connection, then TV will work normally. You can then reconnect your router for internet use.Fault lasted around an hour or so,after which normal service was resumed.I had around twenty five phone calls in the end,so new it must be software error or something to do with smart section.I'm told Samsung updated the hubs software, which triggered the problem,so they reverted to the previous version & all was then o.k. :051bye:
