Title: samsung bd-h8900 stuck on 'HELLO'
Post by: sinclairtv on November 22, 2016,15:13:30
This is a blueray with freeview recorder. When turned on 'HELLO' comes on the display but it doesnt startup. Seems to be a relatively common occurence according to Google, but Iv yet to find a solution. I tried another harddrive and checked for bulged caps but no joy. Cheers

Try disconnecting the narrow flexicable at the back of the control panel. This goes to an adhesive strip on which the function touch pads are mounted (behind the panel lights). This strip has been known to cause erratic functioning.

If this solves your problem, you may leave it disconnected and ask the customer to operate the unit by remote. Or you might see if you can source a replacement, something I've never had any luck achieving.                             Bruce

Tried that..no difference. Samsung say to reset it touch stop button on dvd to reset it when its on. Unfortunately as I cant get it past the 'hello' screen, this didnt help me
