Hi folks,
When playing any DVD the TV sound continues. Did a reset - made no difference.
Any thoughts ? - Thanks, Chris.
Incidentally the sound has an echo at all times that reminds me of something, but have forgotten what. Thought might be feedback from tv via the Scart cable, so went three Phonos - same.

Hi Chris,
AV switching IC3001 faulty. Fairly common. It's a big mother, never attempted to change one myself.
Where's that skip?........Bruce

Hi Jordan,
Thanks a lot for the manual, will peruse.
Thanks Bruce, tend to feel if it's bigger than an eight pin SMD, and probably BGA, might well pass, as only have a paint stripper device that's great for heat shrink stuff, but wicked with chips.
As a thought, there's a system where one floods the area with 'Woods metal' and the offending chip can be slid off - sideways.
Gather not too successful with BGA arrays where an underside cooker seems the biz to free the contacts, and probably kills other local components.
As you suspect, guess the skip - Thanks again - Chris
PS - Other folks suggest pin snipping, and chiselling the chip off the board, as it's well stuck.
Gather ChasHyde stocks it - must go have a look at the price, and then prob not bother, as local folks baulk at anything over 20 quid - job done.
