Title: Panasonic DMR-EX83 dvd
Post by: yellowpinky on July 18, 2014,04:20:56
Hello Group,
I have a Panasonic DMR-EX83 dvd that has lost its tv stations.
I have tried a retune and also checked for domed caps.
When trying to retune, there is no tuning bar just a blank screen.
This machine does not have the usual culprit C1533.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks Ian Harrison (Sound and Vision)

Hi yellowpinky, C1533 is located under the RAM digital board that sits between the DVD and the HDD. You need to remove the board to see it. Chances are it is bulged, along with C1530 and C4056. Causes loss of DTV channels. Perhaps you didn't notice it under the PCB.

Hello Downunder,
I am familiar with the c1530 and c1533 problems under the digital board.
This dvd has only c1522,1523, 1524, 1541, 1529 and 1611 all electrolytics under the board.
C1530 is marked on the board but not fitted.
It seems to be different to the other DMR models that give the no tuning fault.

Yep ye.p, was going by DMR-EX75/85 which must be different apparently. Have not met the EX83, maybe a UK gross domestic product. Back End pcb can cause it [if fitted].

Hi Y/P,

Note that the DMR series include both DVD players and other DVD+ stuff -

You didn't specify what it machine actually was.

Only mention as don't have it listed - Chris.

PS - could help 'Downunder' keep up to date in the antipodes.
