Hi,

Found this in back threads -

No picture, Sound OK. Vs fuse blown on Y-sus board. Norman suggests that the hybrid under the heatsink is prone to failure – not available – new panel or scrap

All the best - Chris.

The hybrid IC's are available online, but the problem is changing them, I haven't heard of a good method of removing them as yet. Some say to buy a pair and change the Zsus IC at the same time. Save a lot of hassle and get the 3 board kit.
P.S. Check if you have a short between Ysus fuse and earth, tells you if IC is gone. Buffers can also blow Ysus IC, check Buffer IC's for damage, and worse of all the panel could be faulty. Guesswork seems to be the name of the game with plasmas at the moment.

I read an artical on another site and could be attemted on an old pcb first. To remove the heatsink, measure exact position ( from top and side) of it's screws protruding up from below.Mark the position on print side and drill through to access screw heads.Unscrew and heatsink should come off. Then ic pins can be cut, lift off ic and desolder pins one by one.

That's true John, I've seen that one, and another that snaps the plastic with a screwdriver after unscrewing the screws a bit with pliers. I couldn't even get the screws to move. Also read somewhere that the components in the 15V line on the Ysus need to be replaced or it will go bang again.
