im after a service manual for the nec PX-42VM3G or similar model with the same boards
thanks
-
psu is at fault i think
only checked caps and fuses at the mo.
i can hear it buzzing for about 15 - 20 secs then stops for 5 ses then starts buzzing again
anyone come across faults on a PKG-1885 power board
checked the owners manual and the red and green flashing light means psu has a fault on the board and should be taken to NEC for repair.
any help would be great
thanks guys

Hi,one thing to do is to unplug the connectors to the boards that supply the plasma panel;so you can be sure of the good functioning of the PSU.
-
done that
unplugged everything on the power and input boards apart from a lead going to the input board from the power board because the on/off switch goes to that.
and its still the same.
so its a 50/50 guess,
and my guess is the power board not the input, also seeing that in the manual it says that the red/green flashing light means fault on the power board aswell.
thanks for your help

is anyone signed up to euras
apparently there are some repair tips on there. would be great if anyone coulds supply me the info off there. i will give you some pocket money aswell. :laugh1:

Hi,not signed up with Euras, sorry;maybe the leads to the control board must be connected,'cos if not ,the PSU is not driven by the micon. I haven't the SM of this specific chassis, but usually the PSU drawings aren't supplied.

I have an NEC VP4g, which has a similar power supply. Mine would work for a few seconds before switching off & going to standby. Repair was effected by replacing the three large capacitors.
If you don't have all the connections to the board it will not switch on & go to standby
