Title: Toshiba 39L4353D loss of freeview stations.
Post by: bonesy on April 25, 2017,09:03:41
Hi guy's,I've got the above set in,which will switch on,say's Toshiba in Red letters, followed a few seconds later by loading data along bottom of screen, with a progress bar & percentage number.Once at 100% no stations. If you then go for a first install, goes through the motions, finds & stores all stations until you switch off!then back to square one.I've looked over air & via LAN connection, but no software updates for this model.Has anyone seen one of these smart tv's?

I think I've cracked this one, went on Tosh web site found firmware, uploaded via usb socket, switched set off for thirty minutes & back on,stations still there.Very odd set though,at sw on Toshiba comes up in big red letters, then blank screen for quite a few seconds, then stations come on.If you try to excess smart or customer controls too soon, message along bottom of screen say's system loading & a percentage figure.Very odd.Tried set after being off all night, came straight on.

I have a 40L6353 Toshiba which seemed to be stuck however if you left it on for a little while 30seconds or so it would operate ok without pressing remote! It did come up on lower screen loading apps or similar. Otherwise wouldn't work with pressing remote (initially thought batteries were duff!).
So updated firmware as you have and now remote works immediately, apps still takes around 30seconds before you can use them. I guess the set is loading the software from memory. Also noticed before firmware update it didn't connect to my wifi on my homehub 4 router (on plusnet). After firmware upgrade from Toshiba it resolved that issue as well.
 Glad you resolved it
