hi bruse just to let you know if you come across this tv, when to to lady''s house,  switch on tv, tv  comes on for couple of seconds then off blue light flashing, quick look through vents seen 2 large capacitors  bulged, thought nice easy one, wrong, couldn't do it straight away didn't have the parts so went back, 30 screws later,  got the back off, warming me solder iron up, had a quick look found 2 blown chips on the top buffer, not sure if caused any damage to the y sus, didn't think it was worth repairing so she scraped it, the 2 caps are 3300 100v, take it easy

Hi Shaun,

Probably a wise move to write it off. These sets were notorious for buffer failure. It was recommended to change both buffers and the Y-Sus all at the same time......you can imagine the cost of that. Also factor in that it could have a faulty panel. Not worth the gamble.  -  Bruce
