Title: Luxor PVR LUX1040B - Vestel
Post by: Turnip on August 28, 2011,12:21:45
Hi folks,

Have one of these where machine won't initialise. In the past a replacement hard drive did the job, this time it tries to format it then gives up. Tried some 5 hard drives.

PS  16PW810-2 seems OK with correct voltages and no duff caps, think it's a mainboard prob - 16MB8252-1

Anyone had the problem  ? - Chris.

Hi Chris

Not sure how relevent this is, but, I had the same fault on a Thomson PVR and it was a Cap in the PSU , causing a ripple on one of the supply rails and upsetting the Micro

But, if your rails are smooth then I would think you are looking at a duff main micro

Hi Bri and thanks,

Incidentally just had a Thomson PVR with usual secondary caps all bulgy - replaced them then P/S pulsing, but with no readable short - odd one - Chris.
