Title: ates av421ds apat 42 power board failure
Post by: swfelias on July 29, 2011,15:30:16
Hey to all

My atec 42 av421ds started about a months ago to flicker on start up and now it just starts up to turn off again. I have looked at the ps board and i cant see any capasitors that seems to be failing, i belive that the power board is failing, so i search google for a new part and fund one place (http://www.lcdtvparts.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_262&products_id=1370)
But they do not have them in stock and no ideer when they will be back in stock.

Hope there is a helpful soul out there with the right knowledge. Any help on this im greatly thankfull for.

Mads

Hi,
If the picture was flickering before this start-up fault, it's possible the
backlight inverter might be the problem.
Try unplugging the lead to the inverter board, before switching on,
and see if the set will stay on, if so, the inverter is the probable
cause of your fault.
Regards,
John.

Hey and thanks for the reply.

I already tryed taking the inverter cables from the power supply but at that time nothing happent. The tv was dead.

The status of the tv is right now, it's running again but it has to be turned on and stand for 5 minuttes or so, and then turn it off, and on again, and then it will run as normal, the only thing i have done is to change 3 different capacitors on the power board.

So from dead to almost working by changing three capacitors on the powerboard. I have ordered 3 other caps that might be the prob, i will recive them tomorrow and hopefully that will help the start up when tv is cold.
