Looking at picture 1, see those brown flat cables at the bottom of the screen. The line is directly above one of them. These supply data to the display panel and are attached basically with glue. They do sometimes lose contact. Apply finger pressure on the contacts and see if it clears the line. If so, you can pack the connection with something like double-sided tape to keep pressure on it when it's assembled. Must confess, I've given up trying to fix this in Sony TVs. It's fine when you fix them, but the line reappears the next day. I suspect the poor contact is in the glass itself where the cable enters it. But you may get lucky. - Bruce

No idea where you'd pick up another panel and I don't know what corner of the planet you're on. Could try fleabay, but there's always a possibility you'll end up with another duff panel. These older Sony panels were prone to this problem.

I don't know where the guy's location is.... if in the UK try EMOS http://www.lcd-plasma-parts.co.uk/ (http://www.lcd-plasma-parts.co.uk/) or LCD TV Parts https://spares2repair.co.uk/lcd-tv-parts (https://spares2repair.co.uk/lcd-tv-parts)

Sometimes the connections to the actual TV screen plays havoc, one method here is to use foam behind the actual connection to help secure the connection to the screen..... this is a known fault in a few LCD screens..... please note the word 'sometimes' meaning it may not be in your case.

Sometimes these faults can be discovered by running thumb pressure around the plastic trim screen edge.... maybe worth a try, maybe not.
