Hi Shaun,
Not the Main board, because it's energizing the PSU to develop Vs and Va, and generating data to flash the LED on the Logic board. My feeling is that both the Y-Main and X-Main are cactus. This should ring alarm bells as the panel may be the cause, so be sure to check the screen carefully under bright light for marks or dead pixels. I got caught last week, when disconnecting the X-Main on a D530 stopped the clicking. Forked out for an X-Main but when I fitted it, the Y-Main appears to have failed instantly. Back to clicking relays. Guess they go out in sympathy, and leave you lighter in the hip pocket. broke Bruce

Good thinking, Shaun. Let the punters chance their dosh instead of us. Why should we be out of pocket. Mind you, after a misdiagnosis, we usually end up with the carcass, which may help defray expenses via the pcb.s. But then we're up for disposal. We should charge a hazardous goods disposal fee like tyre companies
+ an agro fee for when things go belly-up. Bruce
