Hi guy's got the above monster on my bench, which would not show a picture or sound if bought out of stand by.I changed all the caps in psu,all the 1,000uf & 1500uf caps bulged/leaked.The set now comes on every time,at random across the screen, you get broken flickering lines, nearly always there. I've heated the ssb board, the t-con doubler board & T con board, doesn't seem to make alot of difference to be honest. There's quiet a few people onthe net had this problem, just wondered if anyones come across it.As usual run out of freezer, never got any when I need it sods law I guess.

Hi Bonesy,
Had the 37 inch version where I thought the SSB was the issue for the same problem. Got a replacement board to discover it was the screen - Chris.

Thanks for response Chris,it wouldn't surprise me.The lines are very thin, look like dots & dashes randomly across the screen, some screen shots you don't see them, then suddenly they are every where. I've heated every panel ,but doesn't seem to alter the effect.
Reading posts on the net, most people seem to start with poor start up,then once set comes on you have the lines.Changing the psu caps cures the start up but your left with the lines.

Just found one strange thing,if you put digital text up on screen, your picture now appears up in the top left area of the screen, the rest being turned over to text info. The set runs with no lines at all,in text or picture area of screen.

Today I stripped the cans off the large can below the T-con board,I think they call it doubler/converter unit, lots of 100uf smd caps in there,I've isolated it down to around three of them, will let you know once my spares arrive including battery for my peak cap meter, battery gone low, very annoying!

Fixed at last, one of those jobs I just couldnt give up.Ended up two 100uf smd caps in the module between the signal board & t- con board C398 & c404,both together bottom right hand side.Buying a second hand module may not be an option,as it seems to be the most common fault,in that series of set.
