Hi guys; any body knows why my Vizio M421VT LED wont let to store custom settings,i can change all the paramiters but when rebooting tv it all goes to factory default?

Hi silva,
My initial thoughts are that the TV is set to Store Mode (aka Shop Mode, Demo Mode) instead of Home Mode. In this case it will always revert to the vivid settings you see in showrooms. This feature usually appears in the Initial Setup Menu.
Go to the Help Menu and select the Guided Setup feature which will take you to the First-time Installation. When the Home/Store option appears, select Home. This allows you to later set and store your own custom settings.

HI Bruce i guess i spoke to soon about storing custom settings in Vizio M421VT ,the next day turned tv on and all custom adjustments were not there but the Factory default, i did exact what you instructed me to do using home mode instead of Store mode, and went through the install process,then turned off tv and turned it on all was good. but next day everything went to default ,what a bummer,maybe eprom faulty?thanks anyway.

A bummer indeed, silva. What I do with faulty LG main boards is cook them in an oven for 10 min @ 180 degrees. Amazed at how many I've been able to redeem. Doesn't always work, but mostly does.

HI Bruce; this time i have good news for now, update on my Vizio M421vt custom pic adjustments issue. Well today after doing again the factory default and complete installation in home mode and configurations, i went in the pic adjustments and adjusted custom pic settings to my liking and instead of turning off TV with remote control,(which is not the original for this model) i turned off TV on the TV control panel and a few hours later i turned TV on with remote and my custom settings were all there,already tried two times and all good,don't know if powering off tv on the tv control have anything to do with it,yet to be seen,maybe i have to turn off tv on the tv,keep my fingers crossed.

I forgot Bruce about cooking motherboard;
i have fixed this tv already one time,after i had found it in the curve
i have fixed it by doing the BGA chip heating process ,
i applied heat with a heat blower, the same method as the Ps3 YLOD fix
tutorial, just by heating first bottom side with low heat then with
this is my tv and the fault in the video

That sure is one scrambled picture in the video, silva. The hot-air method of reflowing the ball joints is fine.
I fail to see why turning the TV off at the control panel should be any different to turning it off via remote,
but then strange things happen in electronics. Bon chance, Bruce.

Hi Bruce ,i also think turning it off in the tv should not have any effect,what other thing i remember doing when started the home mode install, i did the inputs one by one adding Pic adjustments also one by one,maybe that?
