Hi folks,
Had the odd BGA issue where I found my kitchen oven unreliable as to temperature even though it's new and a fan oven where you'd expect the temperature to be fairly accurate - A bit.
A while later, the wife found several Black things with legs at the bottom whilst cleaning and suspected it was me trying settle my BGAs.
Noticed the Hunton HT-1212 which is supposedly accurate to within a degree or so, and is fairly cheap - Wonder if anyone's tried anything similar to lift a chip with no issues - Chris.

Wonder if something can be done with a electric cooker ring.... or grill? All we need is two flat pieces of steel, sandwich the element between, a couple of ceramic sheets would be nice for insulation then a variac of triac control.
There's always the table-top grill cooker kinda thing. It does certainly help pre-heating the board, watching boards being assembled amazes me there's no component damage..... I've never seen a board being snipped though, maybe they use a mini Qualcast lawn mower for that.

Hi Davy,
Years ago when LG Zsus modules were popping the supply fuse, a Russian chap uploaded a picture to Quuq showing him sorting the aluminium module on the top of his oven. Admit impressed but didn't try it myself - Chris.
