Hi folks,
Generally with a Sammy it's leaky tact switches, but this set has a joystick mounted on the set back which seems rather odd.
Haven't yet checked what the joystick does, but wonder if it's a known issue as there's now't about the problem on line - Chris.

Hi Chris,
The joystick connects to the main board via its own separate plug. Will be easy enough to disconnect it for test purposes.
Admit never had the problem in the antipodes. Bruce

I have a feeling, you might have to have it connected initially to get the set started, then disconnect it,might be wrong, but I'm sure, with similar models I've fixed it's been the case.

Pravda, the IR receiver is attached to said toggle switch, so tv needs to be activated first by toggle or remote. Bruce

Hi Bonesy and Bruce,
Thanks for ideas. When I turned it on, no stations were stored, and after they were, noticed sub-titles had been selected.
Ran set for days and nothing happened so suspect custs are elderly folks, where on getting a glitch they pressed every RCU button.
Being so used to leaky Sammy tacts, suspected it might be the issue with the 'Joystick' - Chris.
