Title: Sharp LC-32LE631E
Post by: Turnip on March 22, 2017,11:03:07
Hi folks,
Just got one in where cust says doesn't always respond to RCU or set buttons, also picture sometimes freezes on some ITV channels where other sets don't on the same aerial.

Had thought it was just another Vestel, but it isn't. Set back says 'Made in Japan' but panels look rather like UMC 'Made in Poland' - Note the P/I is a Delta DPS-93BP used in some Philips sets.

Just wonder as haven't yet seen any problems (Apart from the comprehensive menu) - Chris.

Hi Chris;

Maybe. If you remove the IR receiver strip, pin 3 of the IR LED should have around 5V. There are 3 smd chip caps off pin 3 to deck. These do go

leaky and kill remote function, and as they can drain the 5V rail, they can affect the main board. Typical values are 10u, 10u and 2.2u.

If in doubt, remove them and try the RCU. They can be replaced later by a single 22u cap. Will try to attach a pix but suspect it may be an

unsuitable format.              Bruce

Hi Bruce, and thanks,

Pic OK - Guess it's a viable Japanese SSB issue as you have a manual - Still suspect the P/I is UMC as they have that way with the heat sinks.

Will change the caps, see how it goes - Thanks - Chris.
